Situation in Telangana is conducive for BJP, says Kishan Reddy

Hyderabad: Union minister and state BJP president G. Kishan Reddy on Wednesday said that the political situation in Telangana has become conducive to the BJP after the party announced its intent to give the chief minister’s post to a leader from the backward community.

He said only the BJP can bring about an institutional change in the state and the surveys being released don’t reflect ground reality.

Addressing media persons on Wednesday, the state BJP chief said, “Only the BJP has given 36 seats to the BCs out of the 111 candidates. Our partner Jana Sena gave three seats to BCs out of the eight they are fielding.

The Congress has fielded only 22 BC candidates while the BRS has given tickets to 23 BC leaders. The party has given tickets to SC candidates in general seats, which reflects the BJP’s commitment to social justice. The party has given tickets to 14 women, while the BRS has given seats to only eight women.”

Commenting on Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao choosing to contest from Kamareddy as the second seat, he said, “Once our Eatala Rajender entered the fray in Gajwel, KCR opted to contest from a second place also fearing defeat. Both KCR and K.T. Rama Rao will lose the polls.”

Kishan Reddy said the last nine years of the BRS rule have forced Telangana people to lead a life of slavery and ill-health due to alcohol. “Efforts are being made by the BRS using the police to make the farmers and those, who lost lands, withdraw their nominations using the police,” he said

Chandrashekhar Rao met Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejeswi Yadav, National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah.

But have any of them come to campaign for him? When such is the situation, Chandrashekhar Rao will not have any standing after the parliamentary polls. All politically aware citizens are wishing that the BRS should not come to power again, he said, adding that the Chief Minister appears confused.

He said Union Home Minister and senior party leader Amit Shah will participate in meetings in Gadwal, Nalgonda, Warangal, and Rangareddy districts on November 18.

“Many BC organisations are approaching the BJP and coming forward to hold meetings in all assembly constituencies. We will have a BC sub-plan and all traditional vocations will receive impetus once we come to power. We will remove the four per cent reservation being given to Muslims and give it to the BCs,” Kishan Reddy said.

Explaining the plans of the BJP, if it was voted to power, Kishan Reddy said, “We will revamp TSPSC and give jobs to the youth who are in despair. Akin to the Centre filling 10 lakh jobs by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we will fill the posts here.”

Refuting allegations that the Centre is not sanctioning projects, Kishan Reddy said, “I brought in one textile park to Telangana out of the seven that were sanctioned. The state has not given land for establishing a tribal museum, science city, railway station, and cultural centre.”
