Congress Releases Youth Charge Sheet Against BRS
After cutouts and creative videos, the Congress released a ‘youth charge sheet’ against the ruling BRS in which it mentioned all the unkept promises made to the youth in the state during the hustings.
The charge sheet highlighted that the BRS government had allocated nothing more than 10% of the budget, which is very less in the entire country, to the education sector. In 2014-15, it allocated 10.89% which kept decreasing to 7.6% in 2023-24.
In the election manifesto, BRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao promised free KG to PG education but under his rule, not even one classroom in the last nine years. Except for one institution under the KG to PG institute, the government did nothing in this area. Even this institute was built with CSR funds.
KCR also promised ‘one job for every family’. According to the Biswal Committee report, there are about 40% (2 lakh) posts vacant in the government.
The BRS government displays its lack of commitment by retaining the same TSPSC Board despite its failure in holding the exam transparently. Delay into the consecutive paper leakages also exhibits the government’s lack of commitment, making it lose the trust of lakhs of TSPSC posts aspirants.
With the BRS government failing to conduct the exams from Class X to TSPSC smoothly, as many as 3,600 youth died by suicide between 2014 and 2021.
During the 2018 elections, the BRS government promised unemployment dole of Rs 3,016 to each youth per month. By not paying at least one rupee to them, so far, the government is due to pay Rs 1,74,926 to each unemployed youth in the state.
The charge sheet mentioned of several other failures of the BRS government since it assumed power since 2014.
Mentioning these and many others, the Congress questioned the BRS government why it has failed to deliver the promises made to the youth.
