KURNOOL: Writing a book on AP Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy appears to be the most rewarding pursuit as the authors have been landing lucrative assignments, said a political leader who monitors the corridors of power closely at Amaravati.
Substantiating his claim, he said a former journalist who wrote a book on Jagan’s 3,560 kms of Padayatra, most of which was just a compilation of paper clippings, has bagged the job of a Chief Public Relations Officer at the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). The book was neither a literary treatise nor had any flashes of brilliance, it is alleged.
Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, a celebrated Hindi writer, who hobnobs with those in power, penned a book on Telugu writer C Narayana Reddy - not about his literary works but on his speeches in Rajya Sabha. He managed to get CM to release the book in the company of former Supreme Court Justice Jasthi Chelameswar. Now he has lapped up the most coveted Telugu Basha Sangam chairman for a period of two years.
Veteran journalist K. Ramachandra Murthy, penned a book on Jagan’s padayatra under the title “Jayaho” in both Telugu and English languages. The Chief Minister was embarrassed at the book launch as it was not proper on his part to launch a book on himself. The Corridors of power are agog with the expected outcome for this author. Will he snatch AP Press Academy Chairman position?...
