People won't forgive TTV, if he brings down Amma govt: TN Finance minister
Chennai: Finance minister D. Jayakumar on Monday warned AIADMK (Amma) deputy general secretary T.T.V. Dhinakaran that people would not forgive him if he brought down the ‘Amma government’.
Speaking to the media, he said “Toppling the government will amount to betrayal, people alone would decide if the current government should last or not”.
Lashing out at AIADMK, Dhinakaran said that he had benefited a lot from former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa’s government, but is speaking without maturity and responsibility.
The current AIADMK government was being run without the interference of Dhinakaran’s family, said Jayakumar claiming that those running the government were the true heirs of Jayalalithaa legacy.
Recalling that Dhinakaran was expelled from the party in 2011, he asked how he could hold the post of deputy general secretary.
He also asserted that no one could be placed in the position of party’s former general secretary Jayalalithaa.
He also said former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and hoped that the two factions of the party would merge soon.
