CM Siddaramaiah cross over Amit Shah's crossed legs!
Bengaluru: Taking a dig at Bharatiya Janata Party national President Amit Shah for sitting cross legged before the seer of Adichunchanagiri Mutt, Sri Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said Mr Shah should know how to conduct himself before religious leaders.
Answering a question, the Chief Minister said that people of Karnataka hold religious leaders, especially the Adichunchanagiri seer in high esteem. He should know how to conduct himself while visiting them, he said.
On Mr Shah’s remarks that Karnataka had the most corrupt government, Mr Siddaramaiah shot back saying Mr Shah had no moral right to talk about corruption, while having the most corrupt people sitting next to him.
“During the last four years, our government has been free of corruption charges. We don’t have ministers going behind bars. It was BJP leaders, who went to jail,” Mr Siddaramaiah said.
Asked about the union government not willing to waive farmer loans, the Chief Minister said that precedents were set by former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh who waived Rs 75,000 crore worth farmer loans and late V.P. Singh who waived loans worth Rs 10,000 crore.
“We have waived cooperative loans extended to farmers by the state government. If the Centre fails to waive loans, it proves their anti-farmer attitude, we will protest against them,” he added.
