Try arresting Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat: Shobha Karandlaje to Siddaramaiah

BJP MP claims home department is dead, there is no protection for the honest.

Mysuru: Udupi-Chikkamagaluru BJP MP and former minister Ms Shobha Karandlaje on Friday warned the state government that any move to arrest RSS veteran Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat whom the ruling Congress party blames for the recent violence in Dakshina Kannada district, would prove counter-productive.

"Let the CM or Kempaiah ( the home department’s advisor) arrest Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, we will see what happens," Ms Karandlaje challenged.

On Thursday, BJP state president B.S. Yeddyurappa had warned the state government against moves to arrest

Bhat saying the state will ‘burn’ and BJP workers will hit the streets if it happens.

Ms Karandlaje who climbed the steps of Chamundi hills here like every year on the occasion of the third Aashada Friday for darshan of Goddess Chamundeshwari, said she had prayed for good rains to resolve the problems of farmers.

Speaking to mediapersons she said, "I have also prayed that there should be an end to the murder of Hindu leaders in the state. The goddess should give all strength to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to get hold of the culprits responsible for murder of Hindu leaders," she said.

She also took potshots at the state administration remarking, "The home department is dead in the state. There is no protection for the honest or for anyone else for that matter," she added.
