Rainbow bloc against fascism should emerge: Kanhaiya Kumar

Mr. Kumar said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is afraid of the Constitution of India.

Kochi: The Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union President Kanhaiya Kumar has called for rainbow coalition against the communal fascism represented by Sangh Parivar and BJP. Speaking at the ‘Azadi Sangamam’ in Kochi on Tuesday Mr. Kumar spoke about relevance of such a coalition by pointing to the presence of Congress MLA Hibi Eden and CPM district secretary P Rajeev for the Sangamam.

Launching a scathing attack against the BJP regime at the Centre Mr. Kumar said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is afraid of the Constitution of India. “The students across the country are agitating for the social justice and democracy guaranteed under the constitution”, he said.

The attempt by the RSS and its cohorts to brand students demanding and fighting for social justice as anti-nationals will not succeed, he said. “We don’t need the certificate from RSS to prove our patriotism. We have the legacy fighting for the independence of the country from colonial rulers. But RSS not played any role in the struggle for the independence of the country”, he said. The students cannot be browbeaten by the threat of the RSS to brand the emerging opposition against the communalism as anti-national, he said.
