Karnataka CM's pep talk to ministers today on issues concerning his govt's image
BENGALURU: Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, plans to give a pep talk to his entire team during the council of ministers’ meeting on Wednesday besides discussing some issues concerning the public and his government’s image.
Mr Siddaramaiah was scheduled to review the performance of agriculture department on Tuesday.
He, however, cancelled the meeting, and instead decided set out to visit various precincts of Bengaluru. After a similar tour of the city ten days ago, he had announced that he would embark on such tours once every month in order to ensure that all problems are addressed and to accelerate infrastructure projects.
At the council of ministers’ meeting, the Chief Minister is likely to discuss several issues including unveiling of a road map for the housing sector.
“MLAs are in-charge of selection of beneficiaries for various housing schemes as those from opposition parties are delaying the process. This may hamper the Chief Minister’s promise to make Karnataka free of huts by 2018. So, the council of ministers’ meeting is likely to fix a deadline for MLAs to clear the list. If MLAs fail to give the list before the deadline, officials will be empowered through cabinet decision to select beneficiaries. Two, closure of government schools in rural areas is another issue which has become politically hot. Similarly, the council of ministers’ meet is likely to scrutinise the public distribution system. Mr Siddaramaiah is likely to appeal to all ministers to ensure that this Aadhar-linked scheme is a success,” said sources in the ruling Congress.
