CM hits out at DMK chief MKStalin

Palaniswami said and indicated that the DMK leader was making unilateral decisions and functioned to his own advantage.

Chennai: DMK president M. K. Stalin who had backed Congress president Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Ministerial candidate appears to have changed his stand after his meeting with Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami has said.

“First he (Stalin) announces Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Ministerial candidate without consulting anybody and now he holds meeting with Chandrasekhar Rao,” Mr. Palaniswami said and indicated that the DMK leader was making unilateral decisions and functioned to his own advantage. He questioned the need for the DMK leader to hold ‘back door’ meeting with Mr. Rao, especially after pitching for Rahul as PM candidate in the Lok Sabha elections.

Campaigning for Kandasamy, the AIADMK candidate for Sulur Assembly constituency scheduled for by-poll on May 19, the Chief Minister lashed out at the DMK and T. T. V. Dhinakaran’s AMMK, saying both functioned as “companies” and not as parties.

“The DMK’s poll promises will never materialise as that party will not win the election. On the other hand, the AIADMK which has been striving for the well being of the people will ensure greater development, if the party is voted to power,” Mr. Palaniswami said and urged the public to provide a massive victory to his party.
