HD Deve Gowda to partymen: Don't participate in TV debates

Bengaluru: Upset over the low seat projections for them in the pre-poll surveys and exit polls, the, Janata Dal (Secular), which claims it will emerge as the single largest party after the polls, has reportedly instructed its leaders not to appear on panel discussions on TV channels till Wednesday noon.

Sources in the party said JD(S) supremo H.D. Deve Gowda reportedly directed senior leaders not to waste their time with the ‘so-called experts.’

At an internal meeting held at Mr Gowda’s place two days ago, state president, Mr Kumaraswamy had reportedly said that the party would get 95 plus seats. "Our assessment is that after 1994, this will be the first time we see a wave of support for the party and Mr Kumaraswamy. So, we are confident. The BJP will be at second position and the Congress will be relegated to third place," sources said.

When contacted, party MLC and spokesperson, Ramesh Babu, who refused to comment on the exit polls, reacted sharply to BJP CM candidate, B.S. Yeddyurappa already fixing a date for his swearing-in as Chief Minister.
