PM Narendra Modi’s politics revolves around super rich: B.K. Hariprasad

Continuing his attack on the PM, Mr Hariprasad observed that Mr Modi during his 2014 campaign rallies spoke about development issues while in 2019.

Bengaluru: Taking a dig at Prime Minister, Narendra Modi's remarks on the BJP's Antyodaya politics, Congress leader and Bangalore South Lok Sabha candidate, B.K. Hariprasad on Sunday caustically remarked that someone who wears a Rs 10 lakh suit often speaks about the politics of reaching out to the poor but in reality, his politics has always revolved around the super rich.

Mr Modi while participating in the BJP Sankalp Yatra in Mangaluru on Saturday had said that the party has always believed in reaching out to the last man in the queue compared to the Congress style of ‘family first.’ Participating in a meet the press programme jointly organised by Bengaluru Reporters Guild and Bengaluru Press Club here, Mr Hariprasad sarcastically remarked, "Mr Modi often harps on his backward class background but his career, which I have observed very closely, speaks otherwise. He has always been a fan of the super rich and their lifestyle."

Continuing his attack on the PM, Mr Hariprasad observed that Mr Modi during his 2014 campaign rallies spoke about development issues while in 2019, he is harping on the achievements of ISRO and the Army. "Whether it is the achievement in space or a hard hitting attack by the armed forces, these should not have become poll issues. These are the country's achievements. He is bereft of any new ideas for development and is simply posturing in his campaign rallies exposing how shallow he is.”

Answering to a question, Mr Hariprasad declared that he was not a peace-time warrior but a war-time soldier. "I accepted to be the Bangalore South candidate after none other that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi's name started doing the rounds. To this day, my electoral fight is against Mr Modi and his team who are hell-bent on revising our Constitution. My fight has always been against the anti-Dalit and anti-backward class forces. I will steadfastly defend my party's pro-dalit, pro-backward and pro-minority politics," he declared.

In response to another question, Mr Hariprasad shot back that he would challenge Mr Modi to a debate on his development programmes and his much talked about schemes like GST and Demonetisation. "If he terms demonetisation a success, why do his speeches have no mention of it? or about GST? What has happened?," he asked.
