Ramagopalan for NIA probe into Jihadi killings

BJP claim of unbridled Jihadi terrorism in the state.

Chennai: As if to lend more credence to the state BJP claim of unbridled Jihadi terrorism in the state, the Hindu Munnani founder-organiser Ramagopalan has sought the Centre to order an enquiry by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to probe the Jihadi killings of the Hindu leaders in Tamil Nadu. The senior leader who has been fighting for the cause of the Hindus for several decades, said the NIA should probe various angles including investigating all events, international links, apathy of the state administration and failure of law enforcing agencies that has allowed Tamil Nadu to become a “hotbed of Jihadi activities.”

Giving a video presentation of the Jihadi activities in TN, “substantiated with credible evidences that has been prepared by a team of researchers,” to Union home ministers: Rajnath Singh and Kiren Rijiju, Mr Ramagopalan, alleged there has been an increase in the Jihadi activities in the state and what was infuriating was that the administrative machinery, political parties and even the police were in tacit arrangement with these Jihadi elements fearing the adverse fallout.
“The entire coast line of the state has been leveraged by these Jihadi forces to provide arms training and carry out anti national activities. They are in constant touch with the ISI of Pakistan. They use the shallow waters between India and Sri Lanka to facilitate the nefarious designs of ISI in its proxy war against India. It is no surprise that most Indian recruits of ISIS in its war in Iraq and Syria hail from the coastal belt of Tamil Nadu, demonstrating the hold of Jihadi network in the state,” he claimed. About 134 men and women who attempted to expose them were brutally killed and scores of people owing allegiance to the Sangh Parivaar have been ruthlessly attacked.

‘BJP is real custodian of Dalits, farmers’:

Accusing the Thirumavalavan’s VCK of working contrary to the welfare of Dalits, BJP president Tamilisai Soundararajan said the party which claimed to be the custodian of Dalits is “treating them merely as vote banks and is inciting them.” Parties that urge the Dalits to retaliate cannot be construed as caretaker. “But we have been urging the Dalits to study and embrace change for the better in life,” she said choosing Dr Ambedkar’s birth anniversary to target the VCK, which has aligned with the PWA.

Pointing out that the observance of the birth anniversary of B. R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution and Dalit rights activist, by the United Nations as victory to the Narendra Modi government at the Centre, she said “the
BJP is the real custodian of the Dalits and also farmers in whose interest Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced several schemes.”Earlier, she offered floral tributes to a portrait of Dr. Ambedkar at the latter’s 125th birth anniversary celebration held at Kamalalayam, the BJP state headquarters here on Thursday.

Turning to other issues, she reiterated there should be a level playing field in this Assembly election for all parties and that the Election Commission of India should ensure a free and fair poll. On the BJP election manifesto, she said unlike the DMK manifesto which is “illusion,” the BJP’s manifesto would be far-sighted.” It would put forth suggestions and schemes that would be practically possible to implement in addition to outlining the schemes to help the
government to mop up the revenue.
