Three in fray for Khammam MLC seat

Karimnagar: A triangular fight between Mamindla Chandrasekar Goud (TRS), former minister T. Jeevan Reddy (Congress) and Polsani Sugunakar Rao (BJP) seems to be on the cards in the polls to the Legislative Council from Karimna-gar Graduate constituency.

A total of 18 candidates, including independents, are in the fray in the constituency from Karimnagar, Adilabad, Nizamabad and Medak districts.

Mr Goud, founder president of Group-I Officers Association, resigned as deputy transport commissioner, and filed his nomination papers after seeking the cooperation of Nizamabad MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha.

With several people’s organisation such as TRSMA, PRTU, SS-CRPA and Employees Union JAC extending their support to Mr Goud, he claims that he will work as a bridge between graduates and administration and help resolve problems faced by graduates and the unemployed.

Congress leader and former minister T. Jeevan Reddy has intensified his campaign, alleging that the TRS utterly failed in keeping its poll promises and betrayed unemployed youth across the state.

The BJP is trying to consolidate both anti-TRS and anti-Congress votes and the party’s candidate Polsani Sugunakar Rao is confident of victory.
