No party can form govt without BJP support: Tamilisai Soundararajan
Chennai: Asserting that the BJP believed in civilised politics, BJP state president Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan on Wednesday has claimed that no political party can form the government in Tamil Nadu without the support of her party.
Mounting a scathing attack on actor-politician Kamal Haasan’s Makkal Needhi Maiam on the membership enrollment drive in which she says she had received an email enrolling her as a member in MNM, Dr. Tamilisai said Kamal and his party members should learn to practise civilised politics.
“Yesterday I had revealed that I had received the email from his party saying I have been enrolled as member in that party. I don’t know how they can enroll me, a state president of a national party, in their party. And they have refused to admit their mistake,” she said on Wednesday.
Rather than being dignified in admitting the “mistake” and rectifying it, the MNM gave a flimsy reply in claiming she had applied for membership, Dr. Tamilisai said. “Instead of rectifying their mistakes, Kamal Haasan and his party members are making brazen and baseless allegations. I don’t know how they can enroll me in the first place. Even a child knows that a president of a national party will not apply. Official, they have sent me an email. Let them first reply to it,” she thundered.
In what could be more embarrassment to MNM, close on the heels of Dr. Tamilisai, BJP national secretary H. Raja too had received a mail from the MNM enrolling him as member.
The MNM had even sent membership number (TN TOF 92829) to Dr. Tamilisai and the mail, Dr. Tamilisai said on Tuesday, landed in her mailbox when she was away in New Delhi.
