Hyderabad: Leader of Opposition in Telangana State Assembly K. Jana Reddy, Opposition leader in Telangana State Legislative Council Mohammad Ali Sha-bbir, expelled Congress MLAs Komatireddy Venkata Reddy and S.A. Sampath Kumar on Wednesday separately wrote to Assembly Speaker S. Madhusudana Chary, requesting him to provide the video footage of Assembly proceedings of March 12 and 13, 2018.

Mr Komatireddy, in his letter, said that it was alleged that he had thrown his headphone at the Governor, while he was delivering his pre-Budget speech, addressing the members of the both the Houses, on March 12.  It was later alleged that the head phone hit the Chairman of Telangana State Legislative Council Swamy Goud.

He said that, however, the Chairman, Speaker and the Governor sat on the dais and spent more than 20 minutes even after the Chairman was allegedly hit by the headphone and thereafter the Chairman, and the Speaker, accompanied the Governor till his car to see him off.

Mr Komatireddy alleged in the letter that the complaint was launched based on the government’s screenplay. It was alleged that the hit from the headphone damaged the left eye of the Council Chairman and later, the Chairman came in front of the mediapersons with a bandaged right eye.

Komatireddy said that this cases doubts about the evil design of the government. He said that in spite of objections by the Opposition, without giving any reasonable opportunity, they have been expelled unilaterally on March 13, when the House began functioning.

He said that the video footage is crucial for both the parties to prove the case and requested for the video footage that establishes the alleged injury caused to the Council Chairman.

Komatireddy has requested for the part of the footage where the head phone was allegedly thrown and claimed to have landed on the face of Council Chairman Swamy Goud.

Komatireddy has also requested for the bulletin, containing the proceedings that took place at 10 a.m. on March 13, 2018, when the Legislative Affairs Minister recommended the expulsion and suspension of the Indian National Congress members and immediately, the Speaker allegedly violated principles by not giving any opportunity to the Congress leaders to express themselves and expelled them from the House.
