Karnataka: BJP cries foul over murder

Jayanagar MLA Vijay Kumar alleged that the law and order situation in the state has collapsed.

Bengaluru: The state BJP suspects foul play behind the murder of Anekal TMC member Srinivas Prasad alias Kithaganahalli Vasu on Tuesday morning. Former Anekal MLA Narayanaswamy said that Vasu would have been elected TMC President once the court vacated a stay on the election.

“Vacating of stay was due anytime. We suspect some people wanted to stop Mr Vasu from becoming the TMC president and murdered him,” he said. Asked if the Congress was behind the murder, he said that the police investigation could reveal that.

“There is no democratic governance in Anekal taluk. The local body elections were won by the BJP in the taluk. Instead of elected bodies administering these local bodies, officials are running them like puppets of Congress,” he said.

Jayanagar MLA Vijay Kumar alleged that the law and order situation in the state has collapsed, but the Home Minister is unfazed by the developments. “He is touring in the UK when the state is burning,” he said.

“There have been repeated attacks and murders of BJP and Sangh Parivar activists. Right from Prashath Nayak to Rudresh, there have been a series of murders of BJP workers. Now, it was the turn of Mr Vasu. Daylight robberies and rowdies fighting on the streets have become common. The government has done nothing to control these criminal activities,” he said.
