Chennai: Opposition leaders including DMK working president M.K. Stalin on Tuesday welcomed the Supreme Court verdict convicting AIADMK general secretary V.K. Sasikala and urged Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao to take steps as per Constitution to form the new government without delay.
Commenting on the verdict, DMK general secretary and the petitioner in the case K. Anbazhagan said finally it had been proved that justice would triumph and added that his party would not support any party to form the government and it would not stake claim for power.
Terming the verdict as ‘historic’, Stalin said the verdict of Micheal Cunha had been proved right. Obviously referring to the celebration of Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam’s camp immediately after the judgement, Stalin said the same people opposed the Cunha judgement and said it was a conspiracy of the DMK.
