Hyderabad: A magistrate recorded the statement of poachgate complainant TRS MLA P. Rohith Reddy under Setion 161 CrPC on Tuesday.
The poachgate SIT said its task was to gather evidence against the accused. After filing the chargesheet, the court would examine these statements to take cognizance of the offence.
Sources said that Rohith Reddy mentioned how he was approached by the three alleged BJP agents who offered him crores in an attempt to get him and three other MLAs to defect.
He alleged that the accused offered him Rs 100 crore and Rs 50 crore each to three other MLAs.
Following a tip-off from Rohit Reddy, the police had arrested Ramachandra Bharati alias Satish Sharma, a priest from Faridabad, D.P.S.K.P.N Simhayaji, of the Srimanatha Raja Peetham in Tirupati, and K. Nandu Kumar, owner of two restaurants at Deccan Kitchen, from a farmhouse at Moinabad on October 26
The accused were booked under the Indian Penal Code for criminal conspiracy, bribery and criminal intimidation as well as under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
