Uttam opposes Centre’s move to privatise coal blocks

Speaking during the zero hour in the Lok Sabha on Monday, he condemned the Central government’s move to privatise govt companies, resources

HYDERABAD: Nalgonda MP N. Uttam Kumar Reddy demanded that the BJP-led NDA government consider withdrawing privatising the four coal blocks in Telangana.

Speaking during the zero hour in the Lok Sabha on Monday, he condemned the Central government’s move to privatise government companies and resources. Reddy said Telangana had four coal blocks including Kothagudem block, Sattupally block, Sravanavali block and Kalyanakhani block, adding that the Central government was trying to privatise all these four coal blocks in Telangana.

“The employees have begun protests against the government stand on privatising Singareni coal blocks and disrupted regular activity. If the government is indulged in privatising four coal blocks in Telangana, it will badly impact the employees and workers,” Reddy said.
