Revanth backs BC Census, to raise issue in Parliament

Nine MPs from Telangana, who belong to the BC communities, have forgotten about the need to fight against the government over the BC Census

Hyderabad: Hitting out at the BJP government for failing to initiate the caste-based Census to arrive at an accurate estimate of Backward Class (BCs) population, TPCC president and Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy on Monday promised to raise the issue in Parliament.

Revanth Reddy joined a protest organised by Telangana BC associations at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, demanding the BJP government to take up the BC Census in the country to find out the BC population in the country.

Addressing the gathering, Revanth Reddy alleged that at least nine MPs from Telangana, who belong to the BC communities, have forgotten about the need to fight against the Central government over the BC Census.

"Telangana people elected nine BC MPs and sent them to Parliament. But what are these nine BC MPs doing in Delhi when BCs have taken up a protest on the main issue? '' asked Revanth Reddy.

The TPCC president assured the BCs that the Congress would conduct the BCs Census if it comes to power in the Centre.
