After BJP snub, Hosakote MLA cosies up to Cong
Bengaluru: The newly elected Independent MLA of Hosakote constituency, Sharat Bache Gowda reportedly met two Congress leaders D.K. Shivakumar and K.R. Ramesh Kumar on Wednesday and Thursday.
Mr Bache Gowda, son of Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Chikkaballapura, B.N. Bache Gowda had won the bypoll defeating BJP candidate, M.T.B. Nagaraj.
Sources in the Bharatiya Janata Party said that Mr Bache Gowda might have sent his son to Congress leaders identified with two different camps to send a message to BJP leaders that the latter should not ill treat or humiliate his son.
Sources close to Mr Sharat Bache Gowda said that Mr Shivakumar reportedly assured junior Bache Gowda that he would ensure his safe entry into the Congress party once the Congress Legislature Party and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president issues were resolved.
Mr Sharat Bache Gowda's meetings came almost at the same time Revenue Minister R. Ashok made a statement that the party would not accommodate any rebels.
However, state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel and Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa have not said anything on whether the party would accept Sharat Bache Gowda who was earlier expelled for contesting as an Independent against the official candidate.
