Ambedkar\'s Constitution cannot be impaired, says Bommai

BENGALURU: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday said that the Constitution, which was written by B.R. Ambedkar, cannot be disturb by anyone and termed Ambedkar as an icon of this period who is identified with social equality, knowledge, awareness and sacrifice.

The Chief Minister was speaking at a function organised to lay the foundation for Dr BR Ambedkar Museum at Nagasena Vidyalaya premises in Sadashivanagar of Bengaluru on Friday.
Stating that the name of Ambedkar will remain until Sun and Moon last, the Chief Minister termed Ambedkar as a tall personality who laid foundation for the better future of the country. “Imagine, if Ambedkar had not written the Constitution, and some else would have written it, then, social harmony would not have been possible,” he observed.

He felt that the progress in the society can only be achieved if social harmony is established and that has been possible because of Ambedkar’s Constitution.

While the 12th century social reformer Basavanna is identified for bringing about awareness, Valmiki who wrote Ramayana is an icon of transformation, said Bommai.

Bommai said he drew inspirations from these three personalities and inculcated their values in him. "My decisions are based on the lives of these three personalities,” he said.
