Make Income Declaration Scheme list public: YS Jagan Mohan Reddy

Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy asked Mr Modi to order a probe into Mr Naidu's corruption.

Hyderabad: In a strong reaction to AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his Cabinet colleagues’ allegations that Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy could be the ‘individual’ from Hyderabad who made the Rs 10,000-crore disclosure in the Income Declaration Scheme, the Opposition leader and YSR Congress president on Thursday wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking to publish the “entire list of IDS 2016” and disclose the names.

Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy said that if Mr Naidu’s allegations were true, then that ‘individual’ would be a benami of Mr Naidu himself, as he is the one who revealed the secret figures accurately.

Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy asked Mr Modi to order a probe into Mr Naidu’s corruption. The YSRC chief wrote to the PM: “CM Naidu on, at least two occasions even after the clarification issued by the CBDT (Central Board of Direct Taxes), said Rs 13,000 crore was declared together in AP and Telangana states, and that Rs 10,000 crore was declared by one individual.

How is that Mr Naidu alone is privy to this information? If true, then the person declared should have been a binami of Naidu, otherwise how can he be so specific on the numbers and if this information is true, then, we, people of AP should also be aware of this information...In the larger interest of probity in public life, I request you to kindly make the entire list of IDS 2016 public while initiating a thorough inquiry on the corruption charges on Naidu.”

He referred to the CBDT tweets on October 3, which stated that finance minister Arun Jaitley had stressed that no break-up of the declaration on the basis of trades, cities and state shall be released.

The CBDT clarified that no official list of region-wise declaration had been issued and requested the general public not to pay heed to such fraudulent messages.
Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged that AP has been ranked the most corrupt state in the country and Mr Naidu had amassed Rs 1.5 lakh crore in his two and half years of regime.

“The book we submitted had all information with enough evidence to initiate a probe... No action has been taken on our representation ... No wonder Naidu is emboldened by the confidence that nobody in India can summon courage to order any inquiry against him. True to his confidence, he is probably the only chief minister who has been caught red-handed audio and videotaped distributing ill-gotten unaccounted black money to buy MLAs and is still continuing in power without being arrested or resigning,” he alleged.
