Opposition asks Governor to scrap GO39

The Opposition team also flayed the government for introducing the farm panels with the aim of strengthening the TRS network in the state.

Hyderabad: Representatives of various Opposition parties in the state on Wednesday asked Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan to intervene and get the controversial GO 39 constituting farmer coordination panels scrapped.

The Opposition parties alleged that these panels were intended to benefit TRS leaders and workers across the state. They alleged that the GOs were not only unconstitutional but also against all democratic norms as the entire process of selection and finalisation of members of the committees was entrusted to ministers.

They said that according to newspaper reports, TRS cadre was already inducted in the panels in large numbers.

The Opposition team also flayed the government for introducing the farm panels with the aim of strengthening the TRS network in the state.

The delegation comprised Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka (Congress), N. Ramachandra Rao (BJP), L. Ramana (TD), Chada Venkata Reddy (CPI), M. Kodandaram (TJAC) and representatives from other organisations.
