Corruption free governance is BJP's aim: Muralidhar Rao

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has failed to curb violence. Development and investment are not possible in such a climate,\" Mr Rao contended.

Hubballi: Hitting out at Congress vice president, Rahul Gandhi for accusing the Sangh Parivar of involvement in the killing of rationalists in the country, senior BJP leader, Muralidhar Rao, who is in charge of the party's affairs in Karnataka, alleged on Wednesday that he had deliberately orchestrated a campaign against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"Rahul Gandhi is derailing the investigation into the murder of journalist/activist, Gauri Lankesh, who was killed under his own party's watch in Karnataka. He is trying to save somebody's skin by his conclusions on who was responsible for the crime," he charged, speaking to reporters here.

Claiming that the BJP itself was a victim of the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, he said its workers were being killed in political violence. "The party condemns these murders, including the assassinations of several rationalists. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has failed to curb violence. Development and investment are not possible in such a climate," he contended. Taking on Rahul Gandhi on his defence of dynastic politics as well, Mr Rao said he had clearly admitted that his party was no different from parties other than the BJP, which did not practice it. “The aim of the BJP is to provide corruption-free governance. It is ready to face the Assembly elections and will win over 150 seats," he declared.
