Vizag MP boils at Pawan Kalyan, throws challenge

VISAKHAPATNAM: Lok Sabha member M.V.V. Satyanarayana has got quite put off after Jana Sena founder president Pawan Kalyan’s comments made against him at the site in Siripuram of Visakhapatnam, where the MP is developing a huge apartment complex.

Addressing a press conference at his office in Visakhapatnam on Sunday, Satyanarayana burst out at Pawan, saying the actor is shooting off his mouth without verifying facts. The Lok Sabha member maintained that the site Pawan Kalyan is citing is completely private. There are no court cases pending on the site. Satyanarayana made it clear that a private person had bought the 18,000 square yards of land. After obtaining due permission, the owner had given the land to the MP’s company for development.

The Lok Sabha member condemned the JS chief for calling him a land grabber. Satyanarayana pointed out that Pawan himself had bought ₹50 crore worth land for ₹20 lakh in Mangalagiri with the help of the then chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, which people refer to as a “package”.

“I have been a builder for 25 years. I have built more than 100 complexes. I never faced a case from any court or consumer redressal forum during my career,” the MP pointed out to reporters.

The Lok Sabha member asserted that Pawan Kalyan has no right to seek his resignation, as the actor has never won an election. Pawan lost both the constituencies he contested in the 2019 elections. Further, the actor could not retain the lone MLA who had got elected on the ticket of Jana Sena.

“If Pawan Kalyan has any love for Visakhapatnam, let him support the capital status for Vizag and not sling mud at the city,” Satyanarayana remarked.

The MP went on to challenge the actor saying if he has any guts, he must contest against him or Gajuwaka MLA Tippala Nagi Reddy.

He maintained that he did not run away from the city after the kidnap of his son and wife. He said he has made everything clear about the incident and informed media that he would shift his business to Hyderabad and only do politics in Visakhapatnam.

The Lok Sabha member then went on to attack Pawan Kalyan at a personal level. He underlined that the actor never cared for his family or children. A woman had also filed a case against Pawan in 2008 for cheating her.

“He is unfit to be a family man or a politician. He has no manifesto. He has never told people who would be the chief minister. He is simply misleading youth in his yatra,” Satyanarayana stated.

He said Pawan Kalyan came to the movie world through his elder brother Chiranjeevi, as he had no personal talent.

Reacting to the MP’s comments, Jana Sena leader and former MLA Panchakarla Ramesh said it was unbecoming of an MP to make personal attacks on Pawan Kalyan. “The allegations of Pawan Kalyan that Satyanarayana used his status as Lok Sabha member for personal gains is absolutely true,” Ramesh declared.
