TD men ready to join BJP: Manikyala Rao

He warned Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy not to have Village Volunteers for Janma Bhoomi Committees.

KAKINADA: Telugu Desam is likely to be missed in the political scenario soon as several TD leaders are getting ready to join the Bharatiya Janata Party and some of them have already taken the party membership, said former minister and BJP leader Pydikondala Manikyala Rao. He visited East Godavari on Saturday for participating in a membership drive and told mediapersons that as soon as the Party’s Central Commi-ttee gives a green signal, most of the TD leaders would join in the party and the TD will run out.

He said that Telugu Desam itself got destroyed due to the behaviour of the leadership and the leaders and Janma Bhoomi committees were also causes that led to the party’s defeat as the committees did favours, involving in corruption.

He warned Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy not to have Village Volunteers for Janma Bhoomi Committees.

He said that the situation in the recruitment procedure of volunteers appears to be like that of Bhoomi Committees of TD government.

Speaking about Sabha members Sujana Chowdary and C.M.Ramesh joining the BJP, Manikyala Rao said that they should not be treated as criminals and only their industrial firms became defaulters. If the law proves these leaders are offenders, they have to do as per law.

Manikyala Rao urged the State Government to declare `Water Emergency’ as severe drought conditions have prevailed and most of the agriculture areas have not begun operations due to lack of water. He said that the government should prepare a Contingency Plan immediately to help the farming community.

He also said that the government should release a Sand Policy immediately as the construction sector has been eagerly waiting for sand to complete their structures. He said that during the TD Government’s rule, the TD leaders looted the people in the name of sand. Such conditions should not prevail now. He also said that the government should provide alternative employment to 30,000 ration shop dealers in the state, if they lose the shops due to the government’s policy. He said that the BJP achieved World Record by having 15 crores membership and in this year, already 4 crores membership has been completed. He said that the party aims at completing 20 lakhs membership in Andhra Pradesh and there has been huge response from the people in joining the party.

BJP District president Y.Malakondaiah, Cit president Chitneedi Srinivas and others were present.
