Siddaramaiah's Urs avatar: I'll do it in 2 years
Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has always considered himself close to the hearts of the young but the questions posed to him at Jana Mana, an interaction with a select audience on his completion of three years in office, would have left him wondering if his policies were moving in the right direction.
The CM made a spirited effort to clear the air and denied that he was a pro-AHINDA CM-representing the Dalits, minorities and backward classes. He announced that Ksheera Bhagya for milk distribution among students will be extended from three days a week to six days.
But the questions were piercing like the one from a ten-year-old boy from Shivamogga who wondered why the government announces caste based and not merit-based scholarships? “I do not like schemes which are caste-based. In this state, you have to be poor and belong to a certain caste to benefit. We Brahmins too are poor, please consider our demands sympathetically,” he pleaded.
