Petition for more cops dismissed by Kerala High Court

Recording the submission of election commission, the court dismissed the petitions.

Kochi: Kerala High Court on Friday has dismissed a petition filed by Nadapuram LDF Election Committee secretary T.K. Rajan Master seeking installation of CCTVs and deployment of more police force in sensitive booths in Nadapuram constituency.

The court also dismissed another petition filed by K Sudhakaran, Congress candidate in Uduma, seeking a directive to provide police protection for the voters and Congress sympathisers in the constituency. Mr. Sudhakaran had submitted that there are around 50 problem-prone booths in the constituency and polling officers on duty should also be given adequate protection.

Election Commission of India submitted that the Commission had identified the critical booths in the Constituency and sufficient police force had been deployed in these areas. Besides, webcasting and video graphing of the polling would be done. Recording the submission of election commission, the court dismissed the petitions.
