Mandya: Mocking at independent candidate Mrs Sumalatha Ambareesh for seeking para-military security cordon around her, CM H.D. Kumaraswamy said she could instead secure commandos from the United States through a request from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to President Donald Trump.
He told said, "I do not know why she is afraid? Along with CRPF cover, let Mr Modi arrange for commandos to fly down from America after talking to Mr Trump".
Denying that he insulted soldiers, the CM said he told the BJP not to play with the lives of poor youth. The comment was made after witnessing the trauma of kin of Guru, a CRPF solider who was martyred in Pulwama attack. Thousands of youth from north Karnataka queue up for job opportunities in the forces despite such attacks on soldiers but children of rich parents do not join the join as they had access to all amenities, he added.
