Several in TRS eye Khammam ticket

Such curiosity, which is witnessed among the TRS candidates, is also witnessed among the Congress leaders and their candidates.

Khammam: Who is the candidate for the Khammam Lok Sabha seat? This question has been doing the rounds among all circles that have an active interest in politics.

Such curiosity, which is witnessed among the TRS candidates, is also witnessed among the Congress leaders and their candidates. What makes this issue interesting for the TRS is the fact that everyone, including the leaders of all political parties, thought that the existing MP Mr Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy would represent TRS in Khammam. However, the fact that the TRS high command is considering other candidates for Khammam has surprised everybody.

The party leadership reportedly wanted to teach a lesson to all leaders who have abused their money or power to deviate the party line in Assembly elections. “No MP, MLA, or minister, is above the party,” is the message that the TRS wants to convey to all its leaders.

The party has considered the name of a political novice for Khammam and wants him to win the general elections at any cost. This gesture will make it clear that one’s power or fortune is of no value before the high command.

In light of this, one Mr Bottu Srikanth, a doctor from Sattupalli has been considered. Such candidates are expected to show loyalty to the party after winning.

Former minister Tummala Nageswara Rao and Khammam MLA and several other leaders are in favour of Vankayaplapati Rajendra Prasad, a businessman, in place of Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy. Interestingly, Mr. Ponguleti is arguing before the TRS leadership to field former minister Tummala Nageswara Rao rather than the political novice Vankayalapati Raja. The MP has assured the high command that they will work for his victory.
