Bengaluru: A day after announcing the name of Mr Prajwal Revanna as candidate from Hassan, JD(S) is planning a grand launch for another Gowda grandson, Mr Nikhil Kumaraswamy.
The party has organised a motorcycle rally from Maddur to Mandya at 11 am and JD(S) supremo Mr H.D. Deve Gowda would attend the programme. Though not confirmed, KPCC President Mr Dinesh Gundurao and Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwar are expected to join the day-long function.
The high-profile launch has been decided after ranks and files of Congress leaders raised rebel banner against coalition candidate and have started supporting actress Mrs Sumalatha Ambareesh. The party also wants to exhibit its strength, as indications of swelling support to Sumalatha is evident. Mr Kumaraswamy has been promoting Mr Nikhil in Mandya for a long time. When his two movies were released, its audio release were organised in Mandya. Though all the seven MLAs from the district and MLCs belong to JD(S), the party is not taking any chances while launching the high profile candidate.
