Chennai: The DMK started gathering the support of small parties and caste outfits, whose leaders met party leader M.K. Stalin and expressed their support in the May 16 Assembly elections.
The organisations included Dalit outfits like the Puratchi Bharatham Makkal Katchi and Periyar Ambedkar Munnetra Kazhagam and Arundhathiyar Makkal Iyakkam. Lesser known minority outfits like the Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam and All India True Christian Council too extended their support.
A group of fans of actor Sivaji Ganesan under the banner of Sivaji Samooganala Peravai, besides organisations of Viswakarmas and village priests also supported the DMK.
