TRS seniors sulk as KTR brings in younger blood

The TRS boss has made G Jyothi, wife of Venkata Ramana Reddy as the ZP Chairperson of Jayashankar Bhupalpally district.

Hyderabad: Several senior leaders of TRS, who were active in the party during 2014 elections and also during the Telangana movement, are maintaining distance from the party in recent times.

After K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) became the party’s working president importance of youngsters is gradually growing up much to the resentment and discomfort of some seniors, who have since been staying away from active politics.

After 2014 elections, TRS boss K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) had given importance to senior leaders Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Madhusudhan Chary, Kadiyam Srihari, Jogu Ramanna and Swamy Goud, who all held important positions during the first tenure of the party.

During the 2018 Assembly elections Madhusudhan Chary faced defeat, Nayani and Jogu Ramanna were out of the Cabinet and though there were reports of Swamy Goud likely to contest from Chevella Lok Sabha seat, it never materialized and the reasons are known only to KCR.

Tummala Nageswara Rao, who jumped over from and was a Minister in the first Cabinet, has stopped vising Telangana Bhavan since the time he lost the 2018 elections.

During the Assembly elections, former speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy, joined the party from Congress as did Mandava Venkateswara Rao from TDP. There was talk in TRS circles that both leaders were promised good positions when they joined the TRS fold. And with regard to Madhusudhan Chary, his influence is on the wane ever since G Venkata Ramana Reddy, Congress MLA from Bhupalpally Assembly segment, a Chary stronghold, joined TRS.

The TRS boss has made G Jyothi, wife of Venkata Ramana Reddy as the ZP Chairperson of Jayashankar Bhupalpally district.

As there was no sign from the party boss offering them good positions in the future all of them have been staying away from party programmes.

In a recent chit chat with the reporters, Nayani Narasimha said that he requested the Chief Minister to nominate him for the Rajya Sabha.

But sources in the party disclosed this time many of the senior leaders will not get plum posts as many youngsters are likely to take spotlight in the future.
