O Panneerselvam gets support of one more MLA

Mr Saravanan met Mr Panneerselvam at around 8.30 pm on Monday at his Greenways Road residence and expressed his support to him.

Chennai: Madurai (South) MLA Saravanan on Monday expressed his support to Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam and claimed he “escaped” from the Golden Bay resort by coming out in “T-shirt and Bermudas.”

Mr Saravanan met Mr Panneerselvam at around 8.30 pm on Monday at his Greenways Road residence and expressed his support to him. He also said more MLAs will follow suit and support Mr Panneerselvam.

“I am a civil engineer and I planned and escaped before Ms. Sasikala arrived. I came out in T. Shirt and Bermudas,” Mr Saravanan said, adding that many of the MLAs would “secretly interact” with the public through their phone by responding to their messages.

“We would reply yes and sure to the messages sent to us by our people on social networking sites. I escaped and there are many who are planning to come out and support Mr Panneerselvam,” Mr Saravanan said. With this, the number of MLAs supporting Mr Panneerselvam has risen to 8, including him.

Madurai MP Gopalakrishnan also met Mr Panneerselvam and extending his support, taking the number of MPs with him to 12.
