Pinneli condemns murder of TD leader at Macherla
Vijayawada: YSR Congress MLA from Macherla, Ramakrishna Reddy, has condemned the murder of Gundlapadu village Telugu Desam leader Thota Chandraiah and said his party has no role in this.
He told the media at Macherla in Guntur district on Thursday that personal reasons were behind the murder. He urged the police to take stern action against the assailant and said such incidents should not recur.
The YSRC led by Chief Minister Jagan is implementing several welfare schemes for the poor irrespective of caste, religion and region. This must also help end faction rivalries in the villages, he said.
The MLA said Telugu Desam chief Chandrababu Naidu was trying to create unrest in the otherwise peaceful Palnadu area, especially the Macherla assembly segment. During TD rule in 2003-2004, the present TD incharge Brahmananda Reddy’s mother served as an MLA for Macherla. At that time, there had been 15 murders in the assembly segment, he said.
He said the TD was trying to unleash violence and political murder in Macherla area again, and made it clear that the YSRC was against faction politics.
