Prof. Kodandaram questions K Chandrashekhar Rao on Maoists

He decried that the police were looking at every issue from a law and order angle.

Hyderabad: Telangana Jana Samiti President Prof. Kodandaram came down heavily against the state government for its doublespeak on Maoists.

He wondered how the government was endorsing the police version of the involvement of Maoists in the ongoing strike by RTC employees, when it had earlier categorically stated on the floor of the House that there were no Maoists in the state towards which, it claimed to have sent a report to the Centre.

Prof. Kodandaram asked the government to come clear on which was true — its statement in the Legislative Assembly or the police take with regard to the RTC strike. He decried that the police were looking at every issue from a law and order angle.

The TJS chief stated that if the government was keen to protect the image of Brand Hyderabad, it had to focus on the all-round development of the city.

Lashing out at City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar’s contention that the city was earning a bad name, Prof. Kodandaram wanted to know if there was any scope for protesting freely.
