YSRC social media activist held
Tirupati: A social media activist of YSRC, identified as Naveen Kumar Raju, was taken into custody by the police in Punganur town of Chittoor district late on Sunday. Though the Punganur Police and Guntur Cyber Crime Wing have not confirmed his arrest yet, YSRC party workers have been alleging that Raju was arrested by the Guntur Cyber wing Police on Sunday night, while he was at his home here.
According to the party workers, the arrest was made following a complaint made by the TD party office in Guntur and in connection with an earlier arrest of a YSRC social media activist who landed behind bars in October.
Naveen Kumar Raju, who was also a social media in-charge of YSRC Rajampeta Parliamentary constituency, allegedly posted derogatory comments against the TD Government on Facebook, showing Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao in bad light on the social media.
According to his Facebook page titled ‘Naveen Kumar Raju’, which has 4,513 followers, he pointed out the spelling mistake in Telugu language which was imprinted on the poster titled ‘Social Media Summit and Awards, Amaravati 2018’ that has the Chief Minister’s portrait on it. He also criticised Chandrababu Naidu for meeting various political leaders of National parties and posted a matter on his wall, which reads in Telugu, ‘CBN went to meet many Opposition leaders but none came to meet him’.
