Security of Gandhi Bhavan beefed up

he gates have been blocked with barricades from Monday morning and police deployed.

Hyderabad: Police security was increased at Gandhi Bhavan on Monday. Additional teams were deployed, restricting the entry of outsiders into the state Congress headquarters.

Continuous protests by the party workers for the last five days have resulted in the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee opting for increased police security.

The gates of Gandhi Bhavan were closed on Sunday night after party workers from Khanapur constituency withdrew their hunger strike after three days. The gates have been blocked with barricades from Monday morning and police deployed.

Some of the leaders had to walk into the party office leaving their vehicles outside.

The Congress has opted for tighter security keeping in mind the protests that may take place after the candidates’ list is announced. The TPCC is also worried that the party workers from the constituencies that have been given to the allies will also create a problem at the headquarters.
