Pawan Kalyan lashes out KSPL chief, says CM had no principles

He warned Rao that he would make him cough up all the revenue to the state by booking him in the people's court.

Kakinada: The Jana Sena (JS ) chief Pawan Kalyan lashed out Kakinada Sea Port Limited (KSPL) Managing Director K.V. Rao. He also trained his guns at the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress. He tried to bring in the north-south divide in his speech.

Addressing a public meeting at Kalpana Centre here on Monday night, Mr Kalyan said Rao had earned a massive amount of wealth through the Kakinada port and Kakinada Special Economic Zone (KSEZ) and was enjoying grape gardens abroad. He said he had evaded giving crores in revenue to the government but Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who always chanted the “real governance” mantra, did not make any effort to collect revenue from the Kakinada port. He said Rao was constructing berths by exploiting the sea and Hope Island which was a natural barrier for Kakinada. Though several agencies submitted reports, the government could not take any action against exploitation. He warned Rao that he would make him cough up all the revenue to the state by booking him in the people’s court.

Mr Kalyan said that he was opposing both the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress as those parties were imposing a north Indian feel on south Indian people. He said that while the BJP was speaking about one vote and two states, the Congress had bifurcated the states in an unscientific manner. He said the Congress gave useless laddus to the state whereas the BJP gave rotten laddus; but the YSRC wanted those laddus.

He said YSRC chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and CM Chandrababu Naidu had no principles. He said Jagan wanted to become the CM whereas Naidu wanted his son, N. Lokesh, as CM, but, they did not take the people’s problems seriously. He advised Naidu to retire as he had aged. He said Mr Naidu was doing the same mistake which he did in United Andhra Pradesh. He said power should be decentralised. Otherwise, regional feelings would develop.

Mr Kalyan criticised the Kakinada MLA for saying that he was not responsible for the fishermen and the city’s problems. He said that his uncle resided in Kakinada as Post Master and Kakinada was known as “Pensioners’ Paradise”, but, now, land grabbing, encroachments, gambling and other anti social elements were growing in the city.
