Nizamabad: TRS president and caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is still lays great store by Armoor in Nizamabad district, which he views as his lucky charm.
In the 2014 general elections, Mr Rao had issued the first nomination to Mr A. Jeevan Reddy from the Armoor Assembly constituency.
This time, too, the TRS supremo handed over the first B Form to Mr Jeevan Reddy, who will again contest from Armoor, on late Sunday night. After dissolving the Assembly, Mr Rao had declared the names of 107 candidates, including Armoor, at one go. But Armoor was the favoured seat when he gave the B Form. People in Armoor have supported the TRS since its inception in 2001.
Mothe village in Velpur mandal set a record by unanimously supporting the TRS and boycotted all political parties. In the zilla parishad and mandal parishad elections, people in Armoor elected TRS candidates with a thumping majority.
