Will take action on S Ve Shekher as per court order: D Jayakumar
Chennai: The State government will take action as per the directive of the Madras high court with regard to the case involving actor and BJP functionary S. Ve. Shekher, State Fisheries Minister D. Jayakumar has said.
Fearing arrest by the police for his derogatory facebook post against women journalists in general and in particular against the one who had objected to the governor's pat on her cheek in April, which he later withdrew, Shekher moved the Madras high court seeking anticipatory bail.
But the court dismissed the anticipatory bail plea on May 10 and following the dismissal of the anticipatory bail petition, Shekher is expected to be arrested by the police any time.
“The State government has the onus to comply with the high court order. In this case (involving Shekher) the government will accept the directive bowing down the head and take appropriate steps,” Mr. Jayakumar told reporters here on Saturday when they sought for his reaction.
