Rajiv Pratap Rudy, J P Nadda to manage BJP
Thiruvananthapuram: BJP national leadership has entrusted Union ministers J. P. Nadda and Rajiv Pratap Rudy to camp in the state to manage the party's campaigning in districts. Top leaders including national president Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are expected to come only by early May.
Health minister Nadda has been coming on and off to the state and this time he was asked by the PM himself to coordinate the relief works for Puttingal temple blaze victims.
Party sources told DC that today evening he returned to New Delhi after flagging off 70 video vans which are propaganda vehicles criticising six decades of LDF and UDF rule and highlighting the achievements of Modi government and other BJP-ruled states.
“After flagging off the video vans, Mr Nadda headed for Paravoor to see how much progress the injured have made. Then he visited the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital before heading for New Delhi,” said a party source.
Mr Nadda is expected to return to the state on April 18 and camp here for two days. BJP national president Amit Shah, who was supposed to visit RSS leader Kathiroor Manoj's home at Thalassery and also address a public programme on Sunday there, had to cancel them at the last moment due to the temple tragedy.
There are chances of Amit Shah returning to the state one of these days to launch the Kerala chapter of NDA, which was otherwise expected to happen on Sunday evening at Pathanamthitta.
Meanwhile, Mr Rudy has currently returned to New Delhi and keeps coming to the State to coordinate the campaigning of BJP candidates. Meanwhile, the video vans launched by Mr Nadda will kick off their statewide ‘Vijaya Rath Yatra’ from Wednesday morning.
The video unit has been installed on a mini truck covered by flex boards and an LCD monitor which will show a 25-minute documentary across the 140 Assembly constituencies.
