Why is father being spared, asks Ponnala Lakshmaiah on Kavitha probe

HYDERABAD: Senior Congress leader Ponnala Lakshmaiah questioned why Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was spared by statutory agencies despite facing grave charges even before taking charge as the Chief Minister of Telangana.

Addressing media persons at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday, Lakshmaiah said that as BJP leaders have time and again made grievous allegations against KCR, the Union government should have initiated a probe against him.

“KCR faced an ED probe earlier. Even before becoming the CM, he was booked for different scams. Now that the Centre has initiated a probe into the Delhi liquor scam it should also take into account KCR’s misdeeds, starting from the passport scam.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah, who made serious allegations in recent days, have failed in making serious efforts to nail him,” he said.
