Mysuru: Will convince BJP to field Congress’s Manju from Hassan, says Srinivas Prasad

He said Mr Deve Gowda should advise Mr Revanna to apologize to Mrs Sumalatha Ambareesh.

Mysuru: Former Union minister V Srinivas Prasad said on Tuesday he would convince top BJP leaders to woo former Congress minister A Manju and field him as the party candidate in Hassan Lok Sabha constituency in case JD (S) leaders decided to announce the candidature of minister H D Revanna's son Prajwal Revanna for general elections scheduled next month.

He told the media here he would tour Chamarajanagar parliament constituency and strive for the victory of BJP nominee as soon as the party announces the list of candidates later this week.

He said, “Even if JD (S) president H D Deve Gowda contests from Mysuru-Kodagu, we are ready to face him. We are confident that our MP (Mr Pratap Simha) will win another term from Mysuru-Kodagu constituency,” he added.

According to senior BJP leader Mr K S Eshwarappa: “The entire country is aspiring to see Narendra Modi as Prime Minister for another term. We are confident of winning 22 to 25 of the 28 parliament seats. The pro-Modi wave is high this time compared to previous general elections.”

He said Mr Deve Gowda should advise Mr Revanna to apologize to Mrs Sumalatha Ambareesh.

“So far Mr Revanna has not apologised, though Mr Kumaraswamy and Mr Nikhil have apologised. Mr Deve Gowda must ensure that Mr Revanna apologises or else they should change the symbol of their party,” Mr Eshwarappa added.
