Karnataka: KPCC chargesheet lists PM's betrayals'

The chargesheet list 10 most prominent betrayals' of the Modi government vis-a-vis the people of Karnataka.

Bengaluru: Upping its ante against the Opposition, BJP for fielding an ‘outsider,’ Rajeev Chandrashekhar in the Rajya Sabha polls, the KPCC on Monday released a 10-point chargesheet on social media sites to ridicule the saffron party.

The chargesheet list 10 most prominent ‘betrayals’ of the Modi government vis-a-vis the people of Karnataka. "Be it in matters related to water, land, language or even nominations to the Rajya Sabha, the state has received stepmotherly treatment because of the anti-Karnataka stand taken by the Modi government. This goes to show that ‘NaMo’ stands for Namage Mosa (we are cheated)," the chargesheet said.

The chargesheet referred to the fact that the BJP had been repeatedly nominating non-Kannadigas as Rajya Sabha representatives from Karnataka, the latest being Rajeev Chandrasekhar. "Can they really represent Karnataka’s best interests in Parliament? Aren't there any people from Karnataka for the BJP to choose from?," the chargesheet asked.

The state government had sought the Modi government's intervention in resolving the Mahadayi issue on several occasions. "Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had requested PM Modi to convene a meeting of the three states involved but the Modi government refused to even comment on the issue," the chargesheet said.
