It's a Modi wave not Hindutva card: B S Yeddyurappa

We are sure of winning the Nanjangud byelection because of the popularity of Mr Srinivasprasad, said Yeddyurappa.

Mysuru: BJP state president Mr B S Yeddyurappa countered Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s contention that the BJP won the Assembly elections using the Hindutva card and not riding the Modi wave and said, "I do not know if there is a Modi wave in Nanjangud or not. We do not have to win elections on the basis of dharma, Siddaramaiah's adharma (corruption) is enough to defeat the Congress," he said.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Sunday, the former chief minister said, "We are sure of winning the Nanjangud byelection because of the popularity of Mr Srinivasprasad. Our Gundlupet candidate Mr Niranjan too had lost by a narrow margin las time, so we will win there too," he said.

Later at a election rally in Devnur in Nanjangud taluk Mr Yeddyurappa said, "If we have to win 150 seats in the next assembly elections, Mr Srinivasprasad should be elected by a margin of 25,000 votes. If the alleged payoffs made to Congress leaders, as mentioned in the diary of MLC Govindaraju are proved by the CBI investigation, the state government will fall on its own. So these two byelections will play a vital role in deciding the course of future elections. The Veerashaiva community must elect Mr Prasad, considering that I am the candidate,"Mr Yeddyurappa said.
