Adilabad: Adilabad MLA Jogu Ramanna on Sunday unveiled “Adilabad Jilla Samagra Swarupam” at a function organised in Adilabad town on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramanna appreciated Telangana Saraswatha Parishath for bringing out the book. He promised people of Adilabad that he will get it translated and publish it in English at his own cost.
The MLA said history of districts in book form will help others fully understand districts in terms of their history, culture and other aspects. Such books will come in handy for students preparing for competitive examinations.
Well-known writer Acharya Elluri Shivareddy, who is in charge of the project, said they have so far published Jillala Samagra Swarupam of 10 out of total 33 districts. Work is in progress on books of other districts too.
Telangana Saraswatha Parishath secretary J. Chennaiah spoke. Core committee convenor Manne Eliya, writers Sumanaspati Reddy, Udari Narayana, Vasanthrao Deshpande, B. Muralidhar Rao, Samala Rajwardhan, Chindam Ashanna and Katta Lenin were among those present.
