MLC poll results may change TRS politics within Adilabad
Adilabad: Politics within ruling TRS is likely to change once results of Adilabad local body MLC election is out on Tuesday, December 14; particularly so with news of cabinet expansion being around the corner.
Already, some senior MLAs are aspiring to get into the state cabinet, while the lone minister is trying to retain his ministry. They are now wary of TRS candidate Dande Vithal winning the Adilabad MLC election. He is known for his close proximity with Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and party working president K.T. Rama Rao.
Dande Vithal has already made inroads into Adilabad politics by successfully getting the party’s ticket in the MLC elections, when a number of senior party leaders had been in the queue. His sudden entry has surprised many TRS senior leaders in the erstwhile Adilabad district, as he is a native of Kagaznagar town in Komaram Bheem district.
Meanwhile, both Dande Vithal and independent candidate Pendore Pushparani are expressing confidence about winning the Adilabad MLC seat, based on efforts they have put in during their election campaign.
Significantly, 77 of total 937 voters had abstained from voting in these elections. This raises doubt about some “deal” and politics behind the curtains. Incidentally, TRS had gone all out to ensure a unanimous election. It succeeded in making 22 independent candidates withdraw from contest. But, the only Adivasi woman independent candidate Pendore Pushparani stood fast. She has remained in fray despite pressure mounted on her from many quarters and is hoping to win.
