Revanth slams KCR, says BRS is \'Brandy Rum Sara\'

PCC chief campaigns for third consecutive day in Munugode constituency

Hyderabad: Mocking the recent launch of the BRS, state Congress chief A. Revanth Reddy said the letters of the name of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s new party stood for ’Brandy Rum Sara.’

Campaigning for party candidate Palvai Sravanthi along with mandal incharge Mohammed Ali Shabbir in Chandur, Revanth Reddy highlighted that the prices of not only essentials but also liquor had increased manifold.

“Under the Congress, quarter was available for Rs.60. Now it has touched Rs.180 and belt shops sell it for Rs. 200. People are calling it ’Bar and Restaurant Samiti’, but our partymen are calling it ’Brandy Rum & Sara,” he added.

Over the torching the party office at Chandur, he challenged those behind the incident to come out in the open. “TRS and BJP are feeling threatened. These miscreants have come in the dark of the night, otherwise we would have taught them a lesson. If they have the guts they should come in open. We are ready to take on anywhere in the constituency,” he asserted.

Earlier, on his way to Chandur, Revanth Reddy met BSP state president R.S. Praveen Kumar, who is campaigning for the party candidate Andoju Shankara Chary.
